Because manufacturers have to compete globally, they have a strong incentive to drive down this rising cost, in order to remain in business. Energy efficiency can increase the manufacturing sector’s global competitiveness, retain plants and jobs in the U.S. and manage the risk associated with manufacturing’s carbon footprint.
